Abstract:
Catharanthus roseus is an evergreen plant that originated from the islands of
Madagascar. It is known for its antitumor, anti-diabetic, and anti-microbial effects. Many famous
phytochemicals, such as vincristine and vinblastine, were isolated from the plant. It possesses
various pharmacological properties, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, and antidiabetic
effects. The purpose of the current study is to document updated data about its traditional uses.
The endangered species needs to be conserved using techniques like micropropagation.
